What is the name of the first thing you do in the morning? Isn’t it … coffee? A cup and everything looks better. Life is beautiful after all (especially for those of you who are still on vacation).

It’s a pity that this thing happens: coffee, or the first reason we got up all winter, in summer it seems too hot, we always want to cool it. Then?

So we need to know how to drink coffee when temperatures rise, what separates good from bad when we talk about cold or shaken coffee, milkshakes or grattachecca, ice cream or spumone.

Cold coffee:

It seems like a trivial matter but has its own ritual. Pour the warm coffee into a plastic bottle and put it in the freezer. After a couple of hours, shake it.

Coffee on ice

The Salento variation of espresso can also be done in the morning, eyes still half-closed after a sultry night. Beautiful mocha loaded, as soon as the coffee rises pour it into a cup and lightly sweeten it.

If desired, you can add a few drops of milk, cow or almonds. Still boiling, pour the coffee into a glass with 4-5 ice cubes, give a quick stir and drink it before the cubes melt by watering it down.

Shaken coffee

Put 2 cups of coffee, 3 teaspoons of sugar and as many ice cubes in the bowl of a blender / chopper. Assemble everything for two minutes.

Coffee milkshake

Add 20 cl. milk with two scoops of coffee ice cream in a container. Then, after flavoring with a few drops of mocha drink, put everything in the blender for two minutes.

Grandpa’s coffee

Put 170 ml in an ampoule. of liquid pastry cream, 30 grams of icing sugar and 2/3 cups of coffee. Blend with an electric whisk until creamy. Put in the fridge for an hour and pour into a glass cup with a biscuit.

Grattachecca with coffee

Fill a pan to the brim with at least one liter of sweetened coffee and put it in the freezer for 8 hours. Then, take a glass and complete the work using a spoon or, if you have it, a manual ice skater.

Coffee ice cream

100 grams of cream, 50 of dextrose (a very common sugar), 900 of milk, 400 of sugar and as many of coffee are needed. Put everything in a pot on the fire at 8o degrees. After heating and cooling, start stirring.

Coffee spumone

Stir in 200 grams of cream and put it in the fridge. Add 100 grams of egg white and as many whipped sugar. Prepare two cups of coffee.

Take a cup and spread the inside of coffee ice cream, taking care to leave space in the center for the heart of the spumone, i.e. the mixture of whipped cream, egg whites and sugar and the coffee from the cups, to be added only after storage the container in the freezer for half an hour.

Finally turn the cup and serve.
